Explore on foot
Walking and hiking can replace some vehicle-based sightseeing where the route, terrain and your comfort allow. We plan around what suits you, with time to notice the place you are in.
RAVEN’S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Bhutan is home to our team. Caring for its people and places is part of how we work—from our relationship with a monastery to the choices we make along your route.
Our approach is personal: ongoing care, opportunities for local people, and time to experience Bhutan thoughtfully.

AN ONGOING RELATIONSHIP
Raven has adopted Neyzergang Monastery through an ongoing relationship of support and care. We help look after the monks and support the monastic community, with respect for its traditions and daily life.
When a visit is welcomed, guests may spend quiet time here. Prayer, conversation and participation follow the monastery’s wishes and rhythm.
Guests have planted trees with the monks, and Raven continues to look after those trees after the visit. That continuing care matters as much as the day of planting.
If you would like to take part, tell us while planning. We will check whether planting is appropriate for the season, the place and the monastery’s arrangements.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND YOUR JOURNEY
Women are part of Raven’s guiding and office teams, sharing their knowledge with guests and helping journeys come together. We value their expertise and want more women to see a future for themselves in Bhutan’s tourism industry.
For Raven, supporting women means recognising their contribution in the everyday work of the company—from leading a day in the valleys to looking after the details before you arrive.
Meet the people at RavenTHOUGHTFUL CHOICES, DAY BY DAY
A forest walk, a village visit or an unhurried afternoon can be among the most rewarding parts of Bhutan. We make room for these experiences in the journeys we design.
Walking and hiking can replace some vehicle-based sightseeing where the route, terrain and your comfort allow. We plan around what suits you, with time to notice the place you are in.
Our journeys can include family-run stays, farmhouse meals and time with craftspeople. These choices create opportunities to spend directly with the people who host and share their skills with you.
We ask guests to follow local guidance, seek permission before photographing people and respect restrictions in sacred spaces. On walks, keep to appropriate trails and bring your litter back.
Flights and road journeys have an environmental cost. Walking where practical and planning a considered route are steps we can take. We do not claim that a Raven journey is carbon neutral, or that planting a tree cancels its emissions.
YOUR JOURNEY, WITH CARE
More walking, time with local hosts, or an interest in the monastery and its trees—share what draws you to Bhutan. We will explain what is possible and shape the journey together.
