Choose the timing first
We compare the arrival time, connections and itinerary fit. Airline, cabin and fare conditions come into that decision together.
THE BHUTAN GUIDE · ARRIVAL
Your journey begins before the first mountain comes into view. We help you find a comfortable way to reach Bhutan, with time to settle in when you arrive.

FIND YOUR WAY HERE
For most international guests, the arrival point is Paro. Drukair and Bhutan Airlines connect Bhutan with regional gateways; the best choice depends on where you begin, your travel dates and the onward journey.
Bangkok, Delhi and Kathmandu are useful starting points to compare. Drukair also lists connections with Singapore and Dubai, among other cities. Some services include an intermediate stop, and operating days vary. We check the actual flights for your dates before shaping the route around them.
Share your departure city and approximate dates before committing to your long-haul tickets. We can help you match the Bhutan flights with the journey you have in mind.

A LITTLE THOUGHT, BEFORE TAKEOFF
01
We compare the arrival time, connections and itinerary fit. Airline, cabin and fare conditions come into that decision together.
02
We recommend a generous buffer, particularly with separate tickets. An overnight stop can make the journey more comfortable. Mountain weather can affect flights, so a tight onward connection is best avoided.
03
Allow time for your welcome, a meal and a little rest. We shape the first afternoon around your arrival, with a short walk or quiet exploration when you feel ready.
TRAVELLING FURTHER INTO BHUTAN
A flight within Bhutan may reduce a long drive or help a longer journey flow more naturally. We consider it only when the operating schedule, available seats and your route work together, and discuss alternatives if the service changes.
The right choice is the one that gives you more worthwhile time in the places you came to experience.
BEFORE YOU FLY
Yes. We can check options and help coordinate the Bhutan flight with your private journey. Share your preferred dates and departure city; we will explain availability and fare conditions before you decide.
Drukair currently offers online check-in from 72 to 4 hours before departure. Bhutan Airlines opens web check-in 48 hours before departure. Use the airline’s instructions for your flight, and allow time for airport document and baggage checks.

Check the allowance on your ticket. Limits differ by airline, cabin, route and fare, and domestic allowances may be lower. Check cabin baggage separately, especially if another airline operates your connecting flight.
A window seat offers the chance to enjoy the approach. Ask us about your particular route; the view depends on the flight path and weather. Seat selection remains subject to airline availability and operational changes.

We recommend allowing around three hours before an international departure for a relaxed start. Follow the reporting time confirmed by your airline and check your departure details again before travelling.
Tell us your dietary requirements when arranging the journey. We can pass your request to the airline and check what is available on your flight; a particular meal cannot always be guaranteed.
Airline information checked 12 September 2026. Schedules and policies can change; your confirmed ticket and airline instructions take precedence.
